Herb Blue Cheese Savory Bread

A delicately flavored bread that reaps compliments for the hostess. This bread is a perfect pairing for soups, salads, or simply enjoyed on its own.

Ingredients:

 

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a stand mixer, combine the yeast, warm water, lukewarm milk, and sugar. Mix until the yeast is dissolved.
  3. In a small pan, combine the crumbled blue cheese, chopped onion, and butter. Cook over low heat until the butter melts and the cheese begins to soften. Set aside to cool slightly.
  4. Add the cooled cheese mixture, salt, dill weed, parsley, and flour to the yeast mixture in the stand mixer. Beat until well combined and the dough is smooth.
  5. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  6. Stir down the dough and transfer it to a well-greased loaf pan or baking tray. Let it rise again in a warm place until doubled in size, about 30-45 minutes.
  7. Bake on the lowest rack in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the bread turns golden brown.
